Small improvements for better dialogue

Feature Update - Sept 2024

We recently performed another update, to make QandR even a little better at what it is already good at: providing visual cues for the conversation.

Poll - who voted what?

This time we refined the Poll further, by using colours to show which participants voted. Participation in a QandR session is anonymous, but each participant is given a colour, so you do know who is who during a live session. When you see participants' colours listed in a bar chart, you can ask those people directly for clarification.

In the image above, the facilitator holds the mouse over the ‘Fine neighbours’ option to see which participants have voted on it. In this poll, participants were allowed to provide multiple (maximum 3) answers. This is all adjustable in the editor. This allows a facilitator to maximise control.

Wordcloud - add some keywords in advance

We were often asked if you couldn't already set some keywords in the Wordcloud, as an initial entry point for participants. We have now implemented that. If, for example, you want to enter some standard topics for a discussion about elections (because that's what you want to poll on in any case), you set them up in your project. During the session, participants can choose these keywords by clicking on them. Each click by a participant enlarges the keyword (‘upvoting’). This allows you to quickly see which of the preconceived topics have the most support.

Another thing that is now in the Wordcloud is that you can uncheck a word once it has been entered. This creates a dynamic process where you see words appear and disappear together, and get bigger or smaller. Not only the end result, but also the process is interesting.

Closing slide - automatically generated

Finally, a small but useful adjustment. We often hear in practice that a session often ends somewhat abruptly, without being immediately obvious.

These feature updates are great addition to the various working formats QandR has to offer. Do you also have an idea that we can incorporate into our app? Get in touch with contact.
